Ayurveda is an ancient natural medicinal form that dates back to the 1st millennium BCE in India. This form is gaining popularity here and has become a part of many people’s natural, daily diet. Instead of reaching for that packaged produced coffee in the morning, perhaps you should try an Ayurdeva mix drink.

Ayurdeva is a mix of natural ingredients that can help prepare your body for the day ahead, reduce bloating and can help keep your skin and eyes cleansed. The lemon anti-oxidant and anti-bacterial properties in the Ayurdeva drink will help your body get going in the morning, the natural way.

Here’s what to do to mix the Ayurveda wake-up drink:
1. Boil two cups of water like you would for tea
2. Grab an organic lemon and slice it in half
3. Pour the water into a large mug and add the juice from the lemon
4. Mix in a teaspoon of raw honey

Australia’s culture is highly associated with relaxing and being laid back- and with this comes the social drinking culture. There has been a lot of time devoted to the health and social implications of drinking, but there has been little discussed on the impacts of drinking on the planet.

Most of the imported drinks sold here add to the sectors carbon footprint. But there are ways we can still enjoy a quite beverage and keep it eco-friendly. Here are some ideas to drink eco-responsibly.

Wine- The organic wine sector is growing and drinking organic wine means less harm and waste for the environment. Some wineries are known for their biodynamic wines and also use small-batch and natural processes when creating their wine.

Beer- Australian brewed beer makes only a small proportion of the booze waste, which makes them a better eco-friendly beer. We have a number of organic beer and ales that have exceptional clarity and don’t use any chemical fining agents or filtration that would harm the environment. Go for beers that have no chemical residues that will interfere with fermentation.

Spirits- Vodka O is the first completely organic vodka and is what some say a much more pure spirit. This alcohol claims to have a smooth taste and will not burn your throat (and also claims there wont be a hangover).

Water- It seems a bit wrong that people are continuously buying bottles of water when we have perfectly good water in our taps. There is no evidence that bottled water is better for you and it is far more expensive than drinking water from the tap.

Fizzy drinks- Try not to consume the carbonated fizzy drinks that are widely available. There are organic soft drink alternatives you can purchase from your supermarket and even at Sydney’s opera house. Parkers is an organic brand of fizzy juice that will taste just as good as the carbonated kind.

Hot Drinks- Natural teas and coffees have become available in many coffee shops worldwide. There are a number of alternatives available, offering workers a better and healthy choice.
